Zion Hill Baptist Isues ‘Plea to Save Heritage’

GAUSE - Zion Hill Baptist Church of Gause, which turned 123 years old in September, has issued a public plea for help in its efforts to strengthen and restore its deteriorating building.
Lillian S. Hill, spokesperson, said the building is one of the few institutions owned by the Gause African- American community. She said much funds and labor have been invested in the building since it was damaged in 2010.
“To demolish it would destroy every possibility of it ever being replaced,” she said. The building is conveniently located between the local food store and the Gause Peaceful Rest Cemetery and “can be a haven or refuge when no other is available.”
Its exceptional seating capacity makes its uses varied. “Its strengthening and beautification can enhance the appearance of the community,” Hill said.
“We will appreciate attendance, prayer and moral support, ideas and donation of any amount,” she added.
