I am looking for Milam County Sheriff's records for my Grandfather - Thomas Ivy Hill - who served as
Sheriff's Deputy in 20's in Buckholts for 12 years.
He owned a Saloon in downtown Buckholts in 1914 - had to sell it when he became Sheriff's Deputy.
His brother, John Hill, was involved in a knife fight outside of Buckholts in 1917. John's son, Billie Hill,
bled to death under a tree. The trial drew much attention as it was held in the Cameron Courthouse in 1917.

When the new Milam Co. Sheriff was elected a few years ago, he removed all historical information from the
Sheriff's Dept. website ...
As far as I know, there are no printed copies of all of those former pages on the Sheriff's Dept. website ...
So, all of that historical research has been lost ...
