My wife's family were old settlers in Gause. My wife's grandfather owned the land on the Brazos River where Ft.
Nashville was located.
He died in 2006, his daughter Betty Dziechek inherited, and sold the property, now belonging to Joe Moore.
In the 1920's a log structure (1 of 2) was moved to Gause. That property now belongs to my wife and I. The old
structure still remains there, though in poor condition, we would like to donate it to DAR if you're
interested. The building is all hand hewned, stacked logs, with original flooring. It is said to have been a
storage building on the fort site.
