Hello,

I'm Sheriff Carl Black's great-granddaughter, and I am writing a story about his life. I am planning to visit the museum in a week or two, and I would like to speak to someone who knows a lot about his life. I would love to speak to anyone that knew him if possible.

Please send me an email if you can connect me with someone! Thank you!

Kelly, Sheriff Black was a legend in Milam County. I didn't know him personally but heard stories that people told. It would be impossible to document, but one example:

'Someone reported that a woman had shot and killed her husband.
Sheriff Black and his deputy went to the rural location to investigate.
They completed their investigation and left.

On the way back to town, the deputy asked: "Aren't you going to arrest her?"
Sheriff Black answered: "No, he deserved it and who else is going to take care of all those kids?'

Good luck. There are many stories.
