Norinne Holman, in her 170 years of Cemetery Records in Milam County, Texas, Volume II page 1075 wrote the following:
"The earliest burial recorded in this active burial ground is Rosa Bauer's in 1883, and the earliest birth year recorded is Anna Kalhanek's in 1807. Of the 1,317 names identified (in 2001), twenty nine came from various death records. At least two people lived to be at least in their hundreds. Silvestra G. Martinez was one hundred and Marie Anna Matocha was 103 years of age. One confederate soldier is interred here as well."

"Davis and Mary Meyer donated five acres for the church and cemetery and in 1916 an additional purchase was made for the growing parish. The graveyard is neat and well maintained, but it is quite crowded. The Cameron Herald, in the Sesquicentennial Edition on March 21,1996, has an article about the church. "The first Catholic mission to be built in Cameron was erected in 1891. Dedication of St. Monica's present building took place in 1904".

The cemetery appears to have a dominant Czech and Hispanic influence reflecting the early heritage of the community.
